It is early morning in Amboy, CA as a westbound mixed intermodal headed by a pair of NS locomotives races through. In the foreground is a quartet of old Santa Fe tank cars that are stationed here with water. Once a bustling town on old Rte. 66, Amboy is effectively a ghost town, although a Southern California restauranteur has purchased the whole town in an effort to re-energize the area. Amboy is also known locally for a long extinct volcano on the westside of town.
